Cuisinart Multiclad Pro Stainless-Steel Cookware 7-Piece Cookware Set Review

After using a non-stick Circulon anodized aluminum cookware set for ages, I thought it was time for a change. After much research and reading numerous reviews, I decided to go with this 7-pc Cuisinart Multiclad Pro set since it has all the essential pieces I need. The 12-pc set would have been overkill for me. Right out of the box, I was impressed with the quality. It looks and feels expensive. The steel is heavy gauge and the handles are solidly attached.

The clad construction appears to work well since the pots heat up quite quickly. Since I regularly scramble eggs, I decided to shell out an extra sixty bucks to get the non-stick version of the included 10" skillet which will make daily cleanup much easier and faster. I tried scrambling eggs in the included non-coated skillet and the eggs stuck like crazy and took a while to cleanup. I was a little surprised to see water deposits (numerous tiny circular spots) on the bottom of the pots after boiling water for the first time and pouring it out. I had to use Bar Keeper's Friend to scrub the spots out. After several, the spotting reappears but seems to be greatly reduced. Since I never cooked with stainless before, I don't know whether or not this is normal.

I spent some time closely examining a MUCH more expensive All Clad set to my Cuisinart at a BB&B store. The All-Clad is made in the US (Cuisinart is made in China), so that accounts for the price difference. The thickness and overall construction between the two appears to be very similar. However, when I looked closely, the All Clad is noticably better finished (the brushed finish is nearly perfect whereas the Cuisinart is a little uneven). The larger, flatter handles of the All Clad did not feel at comfortable in my relatively small hands. The All Clad lacks the lip around the edge of the pots so I imagine liquids will drip down the sides more easily when pouring.

In conclusion, I highly recommend this cookware set. It certainly is one of the best purchases I've made in recent memory and should be the last set I will ever have to buy.

Great alternative to All-Clad - Smart Shopper - USA
Based on many favorable reviews all over the web, I took the plunge and purchased the 7-piece set of Cuisinart MultiClad Pro + 2 open stock casserole pans. Twenty-five years ago, my mother bought me a beautiful set of Belgique Gourmet cookware (made in Belgium). It's a great set, I'm still using it and it's still going strong, but I have been seeking additional pots and pans so that I can pass the Belgique down to my daughter. Besides All-Clad, which is prohibitively expensive IMHO, Cuisinart MultiClad Pro seems to be the way to go. Although it's made in China, the Cuisinart MultiClad Pro appears to be very well made and I doubt that the Chinese can really mess up on this type of product... particularly for a big-name company like Cuisinart that has a reputation to uphold. Had the All-Clad not been so high-priced, I probably would have purchased it just to buy a "made in the USA" product. However, I'm not convinced that All-Clad is worth the price, and Cuisinart MultiClad Pro is much more afforable. For this reason, I decided to give Cuisinart a go. I can't wait to try the cookware and see how it compares to my beloved Belgique! I will update this review once I've actually used it.

Great set for induction, wish it had more lids - a's pen name -
I bought this set to use with our new induction cooktop. I was pleased to find a set with a 12-inch frying pan. Other sets that were reasonably priced did not have the large fry or saute-pan, and it was expensive to buy it separately.

The pans cook very well, work great on the induction cooktop, and look beautiful. I really like the brushed exterior finish, and they do great in the dishwasher.

I did need more small pans, so I purchased 1 quart saucepans from Ikea (I love the 1 quart size because it's great for small meals and for refrigerator storage). My husband also likes a small non-stick pan, so I got a small induction-ready teflon pan from Ikea.

The main drawback of the set is that the 12" fry pan does not have a lid. The stock-pot lid fits the smaller frying pan. Cuisinart also does not sell lids separately. I am on the hunt for a good lid!

To Cuisinart: Please Sell Lids Separately!!!

The Cadillac of cookware at a compact price! - Gary Kitchen - Tampa, FL
I did some research before deciding on this set. I got the 7 pc because I don't need a huge set, just the basics. Boy was I impressed! These sure aren't what I had been used to before. They are gorgeous pieces of equipment, and you don't have to baby them. One thing I had to learn, you MUST use cooking spray, olive oil, etc, especially the skillet, food will stick terribly if you don't. I like to use good wood utensils such as olive wood, works well with these. Also, you will use a much lower heat setting than you are used to. They heat up quickly on our ceramic-top stove, the heat spreads very evenly throughout the pan, no hot spots anywhere. Handles are always cool, lids fit well and keep steam in. Just watch your temps carefully until you are used to them, less is more here! Cleanup is easy. If I do get stuck-on food that's crusty, just soak a bit, then scrub with Barkeeper's Friend, they shine like new again. Would I buy them again.....in a heartbeat! You can't go wrong on these. No non-stick coatings here to contaminate your cooking, just quality stainless wrapped over an aluminum core sealed inside. Cheaper sets have a disc on the bottom, they aren't fully bonded as these are. These will be the last set I'll own!

Check Out Cuisinart 77-14 Chef's Classic Stainless-Steel 14-Piece Cookware Set for $199.00

Cuisinart 77-14 Chef's Classic Stainless-Steel 14-Piece Cookware Set Review

We have had a RevereWare set for about 10 years and it was falling apart. I searched and found the Cuisinart 14 piece Chef's Choice set fit our needs. My wife wanted an all stainless set, but was hesitant with all the talk about difficult clean-up and burning of food. That couldn't be further from the truth with this set. We have used it every day for about a month now and have not come across any issues with clean-up or buring of food. I use a gas range and have no problem with heat control or having to use "half" the heat setting like other reviews suggest. We do plan ahead when moving from a boil to a simmer, as it takes time for the pan to cool down. Every pot I have ever used gets water spots from boiling with hard water and this is not a sore spot with me. The ONLY concern I have is that the set is made in CHINA and was not aware of this at the time of purchase. I am requesting that Cuisinart send me a written warranty that covers MATERIALS and NOT just workmanship. It has been quite evident from recent news items that CHINA has had an established history using/manufacturing with toxic chemicals (melamine in baby formula and lead paint in childrens toys for example). I hope that Cuisinart is assuring that the stainless being used is actually stainless and not a toxic brew with other heavy metals. I would reccomend this set to those who would like a good stainless set at a good price.

Equipped to handle most common cooking tasks, the 14-piece set includes a 1-1/2- and 3-quart covered saucepan, an 8- and 10-inch covered skillet, a 4-quart covered saute with helper, and a 9-quart covered stockpot, as well as a 7-3/4-inch covered steamer insert and 9-1/2-inch covered pasta steamer insert.

As part of Cuisinart's Chef's Classic line of cookware, all pieces are made of 18/10 stainless steel that has been polished to a brilliant mirror finish and that won't react to acidic foods. An inner core of aluminum ensures that foods heat quickly and evenly without hot spots that can burn foods. The riveted stainless-steel handles on the cookware stay cool on the stovetop and the matching 18/10 mirror-polished stainless-steel lids seal in moisture and nutrients for healthier, more flavorful results. In addition, the cookware pieces provide tapered rims for drip-free pouring and all pieces are dishwasher-safe. Sticky Skillets - Benjamin Van Kammen -
Used to have a pretty positive take on the Cuisinart brand before owning their products. Now I will never buy them again. We asked for a set of their cookware and a food processor for our wedding 2 years ago. The food processor bit the dust and the company won't do anything for me. The pans in our cookware set are tolerable, but the skillets stick to everything like glue. Horrible experience. I want to take a sledge hammer to them in the backyard, but the wife won't let me. Yet.

Cuisinart Chef's Classic Stainless Steel Cookware Set - soonerfan -
I was looking for a cookware set that was safe and didn't have chemicals from teflon. I feel I got a great deal for what I paid. I have to say that I usually have to clean the saute pans by hand with a "green" SOS pad. My dishwasher isn't the problem, as it is new and well rated. So, if your planning on purchasing this set plan on cleaning some of the pans by hand. When you clean them they clean up easily. I have no regrets for purchasing this item.

Cuisinart S/S Cookware Set - T. A. EVERTON - Left coast of the U.S.A.
I LOVE this set! The quickness and the evenness of heating is remarkable. They may not be non-stick, but having worked with metal for over a quarter century I was able to wet-sand the inside of the saute/fry pans to 2500 grit, and, with a little oil, they are just wonderful. I highly recommend this set for anyone, like myself, who truly enjoys preparing food.

exellent cookware - M. Goodwin -
I researched for a cookware set a lot. I wanted to get the most for my money since I was on a budget. I came across this set after reading a lot of reviews that for the most part were very helpful. I decided to buy this set based upon what I have read about them. I have had this set for a month now.If you are looking to buy an expensive set don't even bother. This set is great. I cook every night with this set and haven't found anything to complain about. They cook very evenly, durable, clean up is very easy and they look great. I have had no problems with this set at all and if you are familiar with cooking with stainless steel I believe you will enjoy this set as much as I do and for the money you can't go wrong. Amazon was good as always.

Check Out Edge Cookware 17-Piece Stainless-Steel Cookware Set with Silicone Handles for $179.95

Edge Cookware 17-Piece Stainless-Steel Cookware Set with Silicone Handles Review

I had a set of stainless steel All-clad pans that I gave away since everything stuck in them and with a price so high, I fell for the hype but the pans didn't deliver - wasted a fortune. I then went with Calphalon and like them very well but sometimes, wished I had some stainless steel pots for steaming veggies or heating soup since the hard anodized Calphalon tends to be difficult to clean with some foods without scouring. I love the silicone handles on this set and the price was excellent given that this same set sells for more than 0 at Neiman Marcus. The bottoms of these pans are not insulated and I put them on par with my old Farberware - which was more durable than the new Farberware.

Cuisinart 4-Piece Stainless-Steel Kitchen Tool Set - OnLine Shopper - KY
Very disappointed in this product. Such a shame for the Cuisinart name to have such defects in their product.

My order arrived with deep manufacturing defects on the non-slotted spoon handle, quite an eyesore, as I am very picky how my kitchenware looks. Amazon immediately sent a replacement. The replacement set also had a defect in the non-slotted spoon. Again, I was very, very disappointed. I returned both sets for full credit.

The weight of the set was nice. The set at first glance was very pleasing, but once I saw the spoon I was a very unhappy camper for the price I paid for this kitchen tool set. I will not buy another set.

Cuisinart Chef's Classic Stainless-Steel 10-Piece Cookware Set Review

I have a few individual pieces of this collection, and I love them. I especially appreciate that they are oven safe. I make plenty of food that starts out on the stove top, then gets moved to the oven so these pots are great for both. My boyfriend likes my few pieces, so I bought him this set for Christmas, since we both love to cook. I'd say the only disadvantage to these pots is that they have a very sharp edge, so be careful when you wash them. I've had a few fingers cut on the edges.

Cuisinart Chef's Classic Stainless-Steel 14-Piece Cookware Set

Cuisinart Chef's Classic Stainless-Steel 14-Piece Cookware Set Review

I've owned this set for over two years. We have not babied this cookware; it's used a lot. The pots, pans and lids are always washed in the dishwasher and turn out sparkling clean. They've also had burnt foods and drips down the side and bottom which comes right off with a little, and I do mean a little, elbow grease and bar tenders friend. The inside of the pans is scratched from the metal utensils I've used but do you really want the inside of your pot or pan to be pristine? The outsides and bottoms of the pans ARE pristine. My daughter is currently completing a wedding registry and I am HIGHLY recommending this set to her. Could I give a better recommendation?

Cuisinart Multiclad Pro Stainless-Steel Cookware 7-Piece Cookware Set Review

I've been using this stuff almost daily since I got married two and a half years ago. We couldn't bear to ask our friends and family to buy us overpriced cookware, but we wanted high performance, so we registered for this instead. No regrets. Though you'll need more pans than this eventually, I have zero complaints for this as a starter set.
